МБОУ СОШ № 45 – активный участник Проекта «Ассоциированные школы ЮНЕСКО» с 2002 года и постоянный участник многих мероприятий региона Урал (г. Нижний Тагил) в ПАШ ЮНЕСКО.
В 2005 году в стенах школы состоялся установочный семинар участников Международного проекта ЮНЕСКО «Великий Волжский речной путь – объединение морей
(Балтийского, Черного и Каспийского) с целью образования для устойчивого развития и сохранения Всемирного наследия с помощью информационно-коммуникационных технологий» под руководством представителей регионального координационного центра проекта «Ассоциированные школы ЮНЕСКО» региона Урал.
В апреле 2005 года в рамках Российского образовательного форума приняли участие в конференции «Российские образовательные учреждения в реализации Международного образовательного проекта «Великий Волжский речной путь».
В сентябре 2006 года учащиеся школы участвовали во Всероссийском конкурсе творческих работ, посвященном 60-летию ЮНЕСКО. В том же году школе вручено Свидетельство национального координационного центра проекта «Ассоциированные школы ЮНЕСКО» в Российской Федерации.
В марте 2008 года школа принимала участие в мероприятиях, посвященных Презентации Республики Башкортостан в Париже, где был представлен проект «Уфа сквозь столетия». Именно в Париже школе был вручен Международный сертификат Ассоциированных школ ЮНЕСКО.
В ноябре 2008 года на базе МБОУ СОШ № 45 состоялось заседание Национального совета Ассоциированных школ ЮНЕСКО РФ.
13 мая 2013 года обучающиеся МБОУ СОШ № 45 приняли участие во Всероссийской экологической акции «Чистые берега». По итогам мероприятия сделан фильм о том, как можно спасти и сохранить родную природу своими силами.
В рамках Международного проекта «Профессиональная компетентность в европейском контексте» учащиеся и педагоги школы прошли обучение в Лондоне
(2014 г).
С 2013 года в школе проходят различные интересные мероприятия о странах – участниках ШОС и БРИКС: классные часы, театрализованные представления, конкурсы презентаций. Одним из самых зрелищных событий является Традиционный марафон «Танцы народов мира».

The school № 45 has been an active participant in the project of the UNESCO associated schools since 2002 and a permanent participant in many events of region “the Urals”
of UNESCO in Nizhniy Tagil. In 2005 the adjusting seminar of participants in the international project of UNESCO “The Great Volga river way of the association of seas (Baltic, Black and Caspian) was held in school № 45 to form for the steady development and retaining the world heritage with the aid of the information communication line technologies by the management of
the representatives of the regional coordination center of project “The Associated schools of UNESCO” of the region “the Urals”.
In April 2005 the Russian educational forum was taken part in the conference “The Russian educational establishments in the realization of international educational project “The Great Volga river way”. In September 2006 the students of school participated in the All-Russian competition of the creative works, dedicated to the 60th – anniversary of UNESCO. The same year the school was handed by the national coordination center of the project “The Associated schools of UNESCO” in the Russian Federation.
In March 2008 the school participated in the events, dedicated to the presentation of the republic of Bashkortostan in Paris, where the project “Ufa through the centuries” was represented. In Paris the school was handed by the international certificate of the Associated schools of UNESCO.
In November 2008 in the school № 45 held the session of the national council of the Associated of the schools of UNESCO of the Russian Federation.
On May 20, 2011 the meeting with the President of the world federation of associations, centers and clubs of UNESCO George Khristofidis was held in the school. On May 13, 2013 the students of school № 45 took part in the All-Russian ecological action “Clean Shores”. As the results they made the film about how to save and preserve the nature of our Motherland on their own.
Within the framework of the project “Professional competence in the European context” students and teachers of the school studied in London (2014).
Since 2013 different interesting events about member states of The Shanghai Cooperation Organization and BRICS have been held in the school: meetings, theatre performances and contests of presentations. One of the most spectacular events is the traditional contest “Dances of the World”.
